§ 13-112. Maintenance and treatment charges; discontinuing service.

  • (a)

    Every owner or occupant of property where there is a connection to the city sewer system without water service shall pay a monthly service charge as established by the city council. If the account is still delinquent at 9:00 a.m. on the nineteenth day of the month or next business day following the eighteenth, a delinquent notice will be sent to such dwelling house, business establishment, industry or other building with a delinquent fee that is set by the city council. The amount of the fee shall be kept on file in the office of the city clerk.

    (b)

    If the account is still delinquent on the twenty-eighth day of the month, the account shall automatically be charged a nonpayment fee on the twenty-ninth day or the next business day. The nonpayment fee fixed by the city council must be paid. The amount of the fee shall be kept on file in the office of the city clerk.

    (c)

    After ten additional days and a mailed notice of delinquency, the service may be discontinued by severance of the connection to the city sewer system. A fee equal to the current rate for a sewer tap shall be paid to the city prior to reconnecting.
